2. Why am I getting a "Bad license file" error when I run mvhost or mvmonj?
3. What information is needed to contact technical support and where do I send it?

Question 1:

Why am I getting a "not authorized" or "Program has EXPIRED" error when I run mvhost or mvmonj?
Answer:

Either you are not authorized to run the program or your trial copy of the program has expired. Please contact your account manager at Lund (call 541-812-7600).

1. The code you received from Lund is not installed in the correct file. ClearView codes should be appended to license.pub.lund, saved as "unnumbered" files. System Manager's Toolbox and Developer's Toolbox codes reside in license.pub.lpstools. All other codes go in license.pub.lps.

2. The code is expired or the code is not keyed for this machine correctly. If you received your license code from Lund in the body of an e-mail message, use Copy and Paste to install it into an editor session, reducing the possibility of typo's. If that doesn't resolve the problem, run lpscheck.pub.lund. Answer Y (yes) when it asks if you want to see the details, and capture all the output in the scrollback buffer as text (please don't send images), and then e-mail it to support@lund.com with your company and contact information, and the error message you are seeing.

Question 2:

Why am I getting a "Bad license file" error when I run mvhost or mvmonj?
Answer:

This means there is a blank line or control characters in the license file. (Did you save the file "unnumbered?") Try copying and pasting the code into the license file if you received the license via e-mail, or edit the file to remove non-ASCII characters. Codes comprise two lines. If the e-mail did a word-wrap on the code, make two lines again. Here is a sample code:

0.<your company name>
4.YN179N3DHM9S082AX85793CN1SSSND02U087VK0 cpu: 979800 serial: 987654321

If that doesn't work, send an e-mail to support@lund.com with the following information:

  • Text capture of the error message (please don't send screen images, just text)
  • showvar hpsusan
  • showvar hpcpuname
  • Company and contact information

Question 3:

What information is needed to contact technical support and where do I send it?
Answer:

Please send the following information to support@lund.com:

  • TEXT copies of the error message (not images)
  • Conditions or steps that caused the error
  • Is the error happening every time you run the program?
  • What version of MPE/iX are you running?
  • What MPE/ix patch level are you running?
  • showvar hpsusan
  • showvar hpcpuname
  • Company and contact information
  • If the error is caused in a batch job, send the job and the $STDLIST.
