Branch Transaction Database Last updated: February 15, 1999 Summit Spectrum 28.13 |
Report highlights Spectrum's Teller Transaction Summary report will provide you with a list of the commands that tellers are performing during a specified date interval. There are reasons (e.g. scheduling, performance appraisal, etc.) to capture the data and analyze it in time increments (e.g. by hour). However, attempting to run a report of this magnitude all at once can be troublesome for several reasons. First, the HISTRY database(s) are extremely large. Even with a report writer as efficient as QueryCalc, the calculation could take many hours. Second, the data stored in the HISTRY database(s) is cryptic. For example, the commands are stored as numbers, and the time of the transaction is stored as a fractional component of a single item (bits x:y). This report builds a database that will be used to write reports. It is intended to run daily. On the first of the month, it will copy the data to a new database, purge the old database and start again. On other days, the report will append the information to the end of the existing database. By only looking for a single day in the database, the calculation times are reduced drastically. The worksheet has been automated to run each night without input or interference from an operator.
